01. How long does the conveyancing process usually take?
Conveyancing timescales can vary depending on the details of your transaction, but most matters are completed in around 12 weeks. We work proactively to keep your purchase or sale moving forward and provide clear, timely updates so you always. know what to expect at each stage.
02. What information do you need to start my case?
Once you accept our cost estimate, we’ll send you an Instruction Form to sign. As soon as we receive it, we’ll start working on your case. We’ll also carry out ID checks and include any additional documents you need in your welcome pack to help guide you through the next steps.
03. How will I receive updates during the conveyancing process?
You’ll receive weekly updates, and we’ll also keep your estate agent and mortgage broker informed. Your dedicated conveyancer and our Partnership Relations Director will stay in touch throughout, and you can check progress anytime using our Case Tracker. If you need anything, you can contact your conveyancer or Partnership Relations Director directly.
04. Are your conveyancing fees fixed or could they change?
All of our conveyancing fees are fixed, regardless of the time spent on your matter. If any additional work is needed that wasn’t included in your original quote, we’ll always let you know in advance and get your approval before moving forward.
05. Do I get a dedicated conveyancer for my transaction?
Yes. You’ll have direct‑dial access to your dedicated conveyancer throughout your transaction. In addition, and uniquely at Smart Legal, you’ll also have direct‑dial access to your own Partnership Relations Director, who is on hand to support you at every stage.
